Battles fought down the Alley On Saturday 25th September, 2004, four teams of FCSC members and their respective partners 'battled it out' for the title of 'skittler - supreme'. There were winners and losers but somehow many of us managed to come away from the skittles evening with a prize of some sort (even if it was the 'booby' prize). The evening was a superbly successful mix of good food, drink and good company.

At the start of the evening we were split into different teams, the first rounds saw husbands battling against wives who just happened to be in a different team. After the scores were totted up team three won and all team members received a much coveted prize. But it was during the next rounds when the needle really crept in - the individuals knock-out. At one point a lady contestant (who shall remain nameless) was urged to consider the skittle to be her husband. In some way this was meant to encourage her to strike the target more readily. It DID!! To wind up the evening contestants had the opportunity to win a bottle of Champagne or Whisky or both (if they were lucky enough). £1 Coin rolling - nearest to the bottle won. You could really tell the hardened boozers!! - they must have lost a fortune. The event took place at the Stratford-upon-Avon Bowling Club, and our thanks go out to David our MC for organizing it all.
