Spring Serenade
May 2005

Finham Choral Society, Coventry is well renowned for its support of Charitable organisations, so when requested we were only too pleased to be able to provide our offering to the Joe Homan Charity.

The programme consisted of an eclectic mix of some well known favourites and some less well known, some new and some older pieces.

Choral pieces were interspersed with renditions from a soloist (Pie Jesu - Faure Requiem), a tenor duet and a quartet. These all drawn from members of the choir. One piece sung by the tenor duet - 'Silent Worship' (Handel) - was arranged by our Conductor (Ladi Merriman Johnson) to include harmony for the last verse. A slightly different (and dare we say it?) improved version of that you may have heard sung by Aled Jones.

Other pieces included:
'For the Beauty of the Earth' (John Rutter)
'The Lord is my Shepherd' (Howard Goodall)
'Cantique de Jean Racine' (Gabriel Faure)
      'Beatles Medley' (arr. N.Dudley)
and many, many more.
