Here we see a collection of early programmes mostly without year dates. So it's not easy to tell exactly where they fit into the grand scheme of things.
From left to right (top row): 'An Evening of Music' at Finham Park School (Wed March 31 year?), where 'Finham Choral Society' played a 'guest appearance'. The choir sang Magnificat - G.Pergolesi. There is no record of the conductor.
Next, 'An Evening of Music and Carols' ( Monday, Decmber 20th, year?). Again this was at Finham Park School. The choir performed extracts from Messiah and a few carols.The conductor was B.Todd.
On the right of the top row another 'An Evening of Music and Carols (Monday, 19th December 1988). This time the choir performed some of their own carols and provided additional voices for general carol singing. Conductor is credited as Ladi Merriman-Johnson.
Along the bottom row we see An Evening of Christmas Music from December 1985. This was a presentation by Finham Choral Society in it's own right. Conductor was Ladi Merriman-Johnson and accompanist was Lynne Adams. There is no indication of the venue here, although it could be St Thomas Moore Church, Chesils, Styvechale, Coventry. Credits are given to Rt. Rev. Monsignor T.J.Gavin and Rt. Rev. Father Charman. Can you recall the occasion? Email us and any details you can provide will help to add to this entry.
Finally in this little collection we have a poster for Magnificat and Gloria - Vivaldi. The concert took place at St James Church, Tile Hill Lane, Coventry on June 15th (year ??). Choir and Orchestra were conducted by Ladi Merriman-Johnson.
